COVID19 is a pandemic situation that has been spread like the wildfire since December 2019. It has been affected human life, economies across the world. It affected all the sectors mainly tourism hospitality industry hit the most of it given across all the border closures, travel restrictions, lockdowns, airlines, cruise operators, hotels, etc that are seeing instant effects of the pandemic.
Many are willing to stay put for the next few months until the condition improve. This survey was done by theJumpin Heights, Journey Weavers among the 200 respondents. More than 50 percent said that they would plan to travel only by the end of 2020. It is considered as the lockdown is lifted in upcomingdays.
The main concern is expressed by the majority of the respondents who were the fear of crowds that they will encounter in any transit at the end of destinations. 45 percent people prefer to stay indoors and take precautions as much as possiblewhereas the other 36 percent of respondents want to work to make up for the salary crunch. The remaining 20 percent are willing to travel to make up for quarantine.
The latest lockdown has been started with some guidelines. The international flight operations will take longer as many nations have imposed the travel restrictions and banned the entry of the expatriates and foreign nationals. It IRCTC has issued that a fresh refund policy where pis a daunting task due to the worldwide spread of the coronavirus.
The Airports Authority of India has given some advisories like Travelling only when it is very essential and avoiding the visiting to the crowded places among the others.
Indian Railways announced to restart some passenger train services with special trains beginning from New Delhi that connects the various cities across the country. The survey is also tracked by the reservation patterns of the travellers where 25 percent of the respondents are ready to make a reservation now with no cancellation fees.
IRCTC has issued that a fresh refund policy where passengers showing the high fevers while boarding will not be allowed to travel having the confirmed tickets. A full refund will be made against that ticket if not travel.
When it comes to the adventure activates that surely cannot resist it. Study shows that there is considered the demand for adventure activities. It also reveals that 45 percent of the respondents are planning to indulge in the heart-pounding adventure activities post the complete lockdown.
Shalini Raj the founder of the Journey Weavers said that While travelling will take some more time to normalize. Our study helps to understand that the specific customer needs and concerns it. People in lockdown are eagerly waiting for the outdoors.
They want to be witnessed wide open in the skies. It is an expanse of the ocean with acres of the lush green forest with snow-capped mountains. It is a long route journey to get rid out of the stress, anxiety, etc.
